AS A FATHER BE HUMBLE ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THAT SOMETIMES YOUR CHILDREN ARE THE ONES RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG:
IT DOESN’T CHANGE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE STILL THEIR FATHER:
THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZE TO CORRECT YOU:
BUT THEY ARE ALSO NOT ASKED TO FOLLOW YOU IN ERROR:
YOU SEE THE BALANCE:
I CANT BE CORRECTED BY MY CHILDREN:
BUT MY CHILDREN ALSO MUST NOT FOLLOW ME IF I AM CLEARLY IN ERROR:
I SAID THE ABOVE FOR THE REASON EXPLAINED BELOW:
We have not been able to keep to our closing time on Sunday morning. Most especially the first service arrangement.
Nobody is ready to talk to me about it.
I am their father, I can’t be corrected.
So the error continued.
The people for second service will always come and meet the people in the first service, and most times we have no choice but to merge both services together.
The first service people are angry for keeping them beyond the time you announced, and the second service people are also angry that you did not allow them to have a complete service.
Everyone has been told you can’t correct your father. The big question is this, if I can’t correct my father, can’t I also give suggestions to my father?
There is a big difference between correction and suggestion.
So everyone found a way to manage me with my errors.
BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED RECENTLY:
I was not in church on a Sunday morning, and the first service closed as announced. The second service also closed as announced. In fact a large percentage of our members came after the close of the final service. (7am -8:30am first service) and then (8:30am -10:00am second service).
This is not the first time it is happening, it is always like this every time the father that no one can correct or give suggestions to is not in town.
You can see in this context I am the one that needs to change, and not the pastors under me.
The big question is, who can correct me or give suggestion to me?
Let me say this, Any church where the father or leader cannot be told respectfully when he is wrong, or cannot be given suggestion where necessary, May be a disaster waiting to happen.
Why do you think Winners Chapel Redeem, and several big churches have National council of Elders.
I told my Elders council some time ago, if I die in any of my errors that they are aware of, my blood will be on their head. Even the issue of closing time, they have discussed it with me, but they can’t force it on me.
May God raise for us leaders that are open to suggestions since we cannot be corrected.
NB:
ANY CHURCH THAT DOESN’T HAVE PROVEN ELDERS THAT CAN CALL THE PASTOR TO ORDER WHEN THERE IS NEED TO DO SO, IS A FAMILY BUSINESS CENTRE.
EVEN IN HEAVEN, THERE ARE 24 ELDERS.
