Scholarship Details:

Additionally, the program seeks to foster strong relationships between Ireland and the scholars, promoting institutional linkages and mutual growth.
Scholarship Requirements:
To be eligible for the Ireland Fellows Programme – Africa award, commencing at the beginning of the academic year 2024, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a resident national of one of the following countries: Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
- Possess a minimum of two or three years of substantial work experience directly relevant to their proposed program(s) of study, depending on the country (see Page 8 for details).
- Hold a bachelor’s level academic qualification from an accredited and government-recognized higher education institution, with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) – equivalent to a first-class honor or second-class honor, Grade 1 (a second-class honor Grade 2 may be accepted if the applicant has substantial directly relevant work experience). The degree must have been awarded in 2012 or later (i.e., within the last 12 years).
- Not already hold a qualification at the master’s level or higher, nor be currently undertaking a program at the master’s level or higher, or planning to start one in the academic year 2023/24.
- Be applying to commence a new program at the master’s level in Ireland no sooner than August 2024.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and aspirations, a commitment to achieving the SDGs in their home country, and a dedication to building positive relationships with Ireland.
