The Greatness of God

1 Chronicles 16:25 KJV
For great is the Lord , and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

Our God is so great that there is no explanation that completely describes his greatness. He has showed forth his greatness to different people in diverse ways, depending on your area of concern he shows himself as a solution provider to that challenge…
He said in his word in
Jeremiah 32:27 KJV
Behold, I am the Lord , the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
There is no situation that has ever met him by surprise, and no situation has ever been too big for him to overcome.

Today we will be looking at two Bible stories to talk about the greatness of God.
The children of Israel were held captive in the land of Egypt, they needed the intervention of God to be released because pharaoh was determined to keep them in captivity, but do you think this was a challenge to God? No, it was only a good opportunity to show forth his greatness.
Exodus 6:1 KJV
Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

Don’t ever belittle the power of God.
Pharaoh tried this but his end was destruction, take a look at this verse of the scriptures
Exod.14.4 – And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
So, in every circumstances, God ensures that His name be honored and the people believe that he is God.
We all know how this story ended, pharaoh and his army were destroyed in the red sea. You can read Exodus 14:1-end

Our second Bible story to consider is the story of the three Hebrew boys in Daniel 3
King Nebuchadnezzar wanted to raise himself above God, he made a golden image and made a proclamation that everyone should worship it.
Now, one thing you should know is this, no matter where you find yourself or the situation surrounding you, never compromise your faith!!!
The three Hebrew boys know the God whom they serve and believe in, and will never bow to another god, no matter the threat.
Just like pharaoh belittled the power of God, Nebuchadnezzar did the same in Daniel 3:15
He said …”and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?”…
Again, this is another opportunity for God to show forth his greatness, as no man can take his place, He said “my glory will I not share with any man”

Indeed God showed himself mighty by delivering the three Hebrew boys when they were thrown into the fire, he became the fourth man in the fire, he was there to protect them. No wonder he said in
Isaiah 43:2 KJV
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

He was there with his children to fulfill his word, and put Nebuchadnezzar to shame.
You can read Daniel 3:24-30
God delivered his children right in the fire and made his praise known to the king and his people.
Our God is great beyond measure, if you tempt him, he will make you know he is not a man. In the same vain, if you call upon him for help in any circumstance, he will prove himself mighty.

He is the God who provides food to the hungry,
He is the same God who sets the captive free,
He is the same God who heals the sick,
He is the same God who opens the eyes of the blind,
He is the same God who gives children to the barren etc
No matter the situation, God is more than able.

This is why you need to know God for yourself because if you don’t know him, you will succumb to what the world says about God. And it will be easy for you to believe that, that is why you need to go back to the word to know who God is, because it is from the word he reveals himself to us.
