WHEN GOD TURNS GLORY TO SHAME

TOPIC: WHEN GOD TURNS GLORY TO SHAME

Scripture: Hosea 4: 7. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

Beloved, we concluded yesterday’s meditation by saying God is glorified in your prosperity because your poverty doesn’t bring glory to God!

This is why God wants you to be comfortable and live a life of comfort to be able to serve Him well. You are a son of the Monarch of the universe, why must you struggle all through life?

Should the son of a baker beg for bread? But that is the irony we see everywhere in the body of Christ!

However, we must learn God’s way to prosperity. If we fail to learn, the chances are God could turn our glory into shame.

Why will God turn glory into shame?

1. When you reject God;

Deuteronomy 32: 15. But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

Your comfort can turn into discomfort, your glory into shame when you reject God. A good example is Jacob; he was nobody when God took him and led him to a place of wealth and abundance, he grew fat and forsook God!

Beloved, it will shock you to know that there are those God can never take to the realms of millions because it will destroy them! So also there are those who cannot ascend to billions because they don’t have capacity to manage the life that comes with it.

There are those whom God gave a few thousands they are no longer interested in prayer or any serious spiritual exercise. They come to church when they like, insult pastors at will.

These were once loyal to God and God’s servants but because God has prospered them, arrogance set in, they feel bigger than their elders and everybody else. They turned their back on God.

2. When you reject knowledge:
Hosea 4: 6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,….

We reign by knowledge in this kingdom! To reign over poverty, there’s a level of working knowledge of prosperity you must have! If you prosper by joining a particular ministry, the day you separate from that ministry is the day, you will start drying up because you separated from your root.

Any plant that separates from it’s source will surely die. If however you were able to secure grace that makes for prosperity in life personally, you know what you did before it all began, you must keep at it to keep it flowing.

From our anchor scripture, the Bible said:
Hosea 4: 7. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

Why they sinned as they increased was in verse 6, they rejected knowledge. When you reject the knowledge of God, it is easy to do things in your own way and easily sin against God.

3. When you refuse to be a steward(1 Cor. 4: 1):

Who is a Steward?

He is a care taker! One who manages another person’s property. So God expects us to manage every resource He has put under our care. Our ability to manage them well determines how much will be further committed into our trust.

One thing that is required of us in stewardship is faithfulness;
1 Corinthians 4: 2. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

If you are not faithful in dispensing what you have received don’t expect to move forward. Many times stagnation is a result of our unfaithfulness. When God sees unfaithfulness in stewardship, He stops promoting, as such, glory turns to shame.

Beloved, don’t allow your comfort to become discomfort, glory to shame by rejecting God, rejecting knowledge and refusing to be a steward.

Remember this:Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision of where to spend eternity is best made now! Give your heart to Jesus today.

Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord, help me not to reject you when you prosper me in Jesus.

– I prophesy the release of your miracles as you return back to God.
