When Bishop David Oyedepo is shouting on Covenant University students and dismissing the recalcitrant ones for use of hard drugs, they want to be ‘woke’ and counter that use of hard drugs is not mentioned in the Bible, they insult him for harassing students in a ‘Glorified Secondary School’. We are seeing the effects of drugs on students.

Can I tell you where the passion for Covenant University came? We got someone and took him to Aro (Psychiatric Hospital, Abeokuta); one statement was made by those who went.
“Well we don’t have any bed space because young people are brought back home every day, mentally derailed because of drugs”
I said: Jesus, are we destroying the future of our Nation?
That’s why we take so hard matters on drugs at Covenant University.
We have the testing kit, they test you, you have it… no discussion, no mention.
Why? They were not equipped at home. They have no sense of value and they throw them to go and meet those that don’t have any sense of value, so they join them.
But none of your children, sir, if any of them is outside the country, please organize highly structured instructions that goes to them every time because only God can bend a dry fish without breaking it.
