COVENANT HOUR OF PRAYER

EXHORTATION LINES

Monday, June 27 – Saturday, July 2, 2022

Introduction:

  • We serve a covenant keeping God and not a Father Christmas God – Psa. 89:34)34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that  is gone out of my lips.   (Deut. 28:1-2)1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken  diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to  observe and to do all his commandments which I  command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set  thee on high above all nations of the earth:  2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and  overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of  the Lord thy God.
  • Every provision of redemption is available to whosoever will meet the conditions attached                              – Luk. 6:40) 40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one  that is perfect shall be as his master.  (Jam. 1:22-25)22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only,  deceiving your own selves.  23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he  is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and  straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,  and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful  hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be  blessed in his deed.
  • Serving God is a vital requirement for accessing the blessings of redemption – Mat. 6:33) 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his  righteousness; and all these things shall be added  unto you.  (Psa. 34:10)10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but  they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

This week, our exhortation line is captioned: We Do Not Beg for a Turnaround in the Kingdom                 – Mat. 20:20-22)20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children  with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain  thing of him.  21 And he said unto her,  What wilt thou? She saith  unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the  one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy  kingdom.  22 But Jesus answered and said,  Ye know not what ye  ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,  and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized  with? They say unto him, We are able.

We Do Not Beg for a Turnaround in the Kingdom – Mat.

  • In the kingdom, we do not beg to be blessed, we serve to be blessed – Exo. 23:25-26)25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall  bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness  away from the midst of thee.  26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,  in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
  • We do not beg to be promoted; we serve our way into promotion Luk. 19:17-19)17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant:  because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have  thou authority over ten cities.  18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath  gained five pounds.  19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five  cities.
  • God is not looking for who to enslave, He is looking for who to enthrone – Luk. 22:25-30) 25 And he said unto them,  The kings of the Gentiles  exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise  authority upon them are called benefactors.  26 But ye  shall not  be so: but he that is greatest  among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is  chief, as he that doth serve.  27 For whether  is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or  he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I  am among you as he that serveth.  28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my  temptations.  29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father  hath appointed unto me;  30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my  kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes  of Israel.  (Dan. 12:3)3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness  of the firmament; and they that turn many to  righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

We Do Not Beg for a Turnaround in the Kingdom – Mat.

  • We do not beg to be honoured; we serve our way to honour – Jn 12:24-26)24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat  fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it  die, it bringeth forth much fruit.  25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that  hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life  eternal.  26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I  am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve  me, him will my Father honour.
  • We do not beg for breakthrough; we serve our way into breakthroughs – Luk. 5:1-8)1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed  upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake  of Gennesaret,  2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the  fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing  their nets.  3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was  Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a  little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the  people out of the ship.  4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon,   Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a  draught.  5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we  have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:  nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great  multitude of fishes: and their net brake.  7 And they beckoned unto  their partners, which were  in the other ship, that they should come and help  them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that  they began to sink.  8 When Simon Peter saw  it, he fell down at Jesus’  knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O  Lord.
  • God is not looking for who to stress, He is looking for who to make whole – 2Cor. 5:19-20) 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world  unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;  and hath committed unto us the word of  reconciliation.  20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as  though God did beseech you by us: we pray  you in  Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  (Pro. 13:7)7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet  hath nothing:   there is that maketh himself poor, yet  hath great  riches.

We Do Not Beg for a Turnaround in the Kingdom – Mat.

  • We do not beg to be enthroned; we serve our way to enthronement – Mat. 20:20-28)20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children  with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain  thing of him. 23 And he saith unto them,  Ye shall drink indeed of  my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am  baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my  left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them  for whom it is prepared of my Father.  24 And when the ten heard  it, they were moved with  indignation against the two brethren.  25 But Jesus called them  unto him, and said,  Ye  know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise  dominion over them, and they that are great exercise  authority upon them.  26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever  will be great among you, let him be your minister;  27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be  your servant:  28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered  unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for  many.
  • We do not cry to prosper; we serve our way into growing realms of prosperity – Psa. 35:27)   27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my  righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the  Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the  prosperity of his servant.                     (Job 36:11) 11 If they obey and serve  him, they shall spend their  days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.  (Mal. 3:17-18)17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in  that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare  them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.  18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the  righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth  God and him that serveth him not. (Mal. 4:1-4)1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an  oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly,  shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn  them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave  them neither root nor branch.  2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of  righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye  shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.  3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be  ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I  shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.  4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I  commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the  statutes and judgments.
  • God is not looking for who to rob, He is looking for who to enrich – Job. 36:11) 11 If they obey and serve  him, they shall spend their  days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.  (Luk.

  • We do not beg to have children in the kingdom, we serve to be fruitful – Exo. 23:25-26)25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall  bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness  away from the midst of thee.  26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,  in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
  • We do not cry to be healed, as we serve God, we are entitled to health and vitality – Jn 15:1-2) 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh  away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth  it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  (2 Cor. 5:20)20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as  though God did beseech you by us: we pray  you in  Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.   ( Pro. 13:17)17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a  faithful ambassador is health.
  • God is not looking for who to humiliate, He is looking for who to honour – Pro. 14:28)28 In the multitude of people  is the king’s honour: but  in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.   (1 Sam. 2:30)30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed  that thy house, and the house of thy father, should  walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it  far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and  they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

  • We do not beg to be free from the oppression of the wicked, we serve our way into liberty                            – Exo. 4:22-23)22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the  Lord, Israel is my son,  even my firstborn:  23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may  serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will  slay thy son, even thy firstborn.   (Exo. 23:25-26)25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall  bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness  away from the midst of thee.  26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,  in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
  • We do not cry to be free from generational curses, we serve our way into freedom – Job. 36:11)11 If they obey and serve  him, they shall spend their  days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.   (Gen. 12:1-3)1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of  thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s  house, unto a land that I will shew thee:  2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless  thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a  blessing:  3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him  that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the  earth be blessed.
  • God is not looking for who to disgrace, He is looking for who to empower for triumphant living – Psa. 89: 20-24)20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil  have I anointed him:  21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm  also shall strengthen him.  22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of  wickedness afflict him.  23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and  plague them that hate him.  24 But my faithfulness and my mercy  shall be with  him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.   (Luk. 10:1/17-19)1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy  also, and sent them two and two before his face into  every city and place, whither he himself would come.  17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying,  Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy  name.  18 And he said unto them,  I beheld Satan as lightning  fall from heaven.  19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents  and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:  and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We Do Not Beg for a Turnaround in the Kingdom – Mat.

  • We do not beg to be favoured; we serve our way into favour– Pro. 102:13-15) 13 Thou shalt arise,  and have mercy upon Zion: for  the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.  14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and  favour the dust thereof.  15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and  all the kings of the earth thy glory.  (Psa. 44:3)3 For they got not the land in possession by their own  sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy  right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy  countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
  • We do not beg for long life in the kingdom, we serve to enjoy long life – Exo. 23:25-26)25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall  bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness  away from the midst of thee.  26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,  in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.   (Psa. 91:1/15-16)1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High  shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I  will  be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour  him.  16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my  salvation.
  • God is not looking for who to use, He is looking for who to bless – Exo. 23:25-26)25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall  bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness  away from the midst of thee.  26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,  in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

Jesus is Lord!
