The dedication of the Trinity Towers, City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God took place on Sunday the 12th February, 2023 and was graced by dignitaries and special guests.
Some Special guests included the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, his wife Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye, Pastor Sunny Akande, RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Simeon Moronfolu Olusola Olakunri (SAN), Pastor Felix O. A. Ohiwerei, Mrs Olufunlola Iluyomade, Mrs Henrietta Bamidele Adejumo, The Oniru of Iru Land (landlord) and other clerics like Prophet Isa El-Buba.
The Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo doubled as a Provincial Pastor of the RCCG in Lagos while Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the APC Rivers Gubernatorial candidate Pastor Tonye Cole were also present.
Pastor Tonye Cole spoke on the Trinity Towers. He said the edifice began with the declaration from Pastor Iluyomade on 1st January, 2009 stopping every bank debt. 121 million naira was needed to settle every debt and by 14th April, 2019, every debt was cleared.
Till completion, pledges of 12.9 billion were made from the Church while 12.4 billion was redeemed. In January 2023 alone, 631 million was raised for the building.
He stated that about 4 billion Naira (8 million dollars equivalent) is targeted to bring the towers to completion.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu remarked on the conversion of the former “face me I face you” road in front of the Church to a dual carriageway by the government.
This is to enable the route carry the load of commercial activities that will compliment the edifice.
Vice President Osinbajo gave a rundown on the history of the Church in Nigeria and added that Pastor Eskor Mfon had the vision but passed on before he could break ground. Pastor Iluyomade took on the vision and completed it to dedication.
He further changed the name of the Camp ground of the Redeemed Christian Church of God from Redemption City to Redemption Nation stating that the ‘City’ has been taken over by Pastor Iluyomade.
However, he stated that the matter of support for the edifice from the Federal Government will be a private conversation with Pastor Iluyomade.
Pastor Adeboye brought the sermon before the event came to an end.
The Vision of the Trinity Towers will help:
* Showcase talents of the less privileged to help them escape poverty
* Prevention of teenage pregnancies by building schools and hospitals for those who cannot afford them.
Trinity Towers is one of the tallest buildings in Nigeria.
