TOPIC : THERE IS A SPECIAL REST
Scripture: Hebrews 4:9 So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter. Besides rest in this world, there is another form of rest which is referred to as special rest, as rendered in the New Living Translation (NLT). This special rest is our consideration today.
Beloved, understand that Man was designed to last forever! Our stay on earth is transient when compared to eternity! If there’s anything any man cannot dispute, it is the fact that eternity lies ahead of every man. Both young and old, educated and illeterate, poor or rich, male or female eternity is ahead of every one, your skin colour nothwithstanding!
Facts about eternal rest also known as special rest?
1. This is the highest form of rest!
Besides, psychological rest and physical rest is eternal rest! it is this rest that comes when a man dies in the Lord. The Bible said:
Hebrews 4: 9. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Those who died in Christ are described as sleeping or resting in the Lord as they have been ushered into eternal rest.
2. This is the rest that takes you away from the problem of this world permanently!
Although, you can enter this rest without dying because Jesus Christ is the basis of this rest. So once you enter into Christ you enter into rest! If however you are yet to receive Christ, there’s no rest for you. There is no peace for the wicked :
Isaiah 57: 20. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
*Who is the wicked?* He is a sinner! So if you are still in the occult, secret cult, rape gang, kidnapping group etc and you are in church, it is time to repent. In whatever sinful practice you are living in, there is no peace for you on earth and even after leaving the world except you surrender to Jesus today.
3. The eternal rest is where a man can rest in peace (Rev. 14:13):
Revelation 14: 13. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
I have conducted several interments, I often observed people saying REST IN PEACE! I have also observed people signing the condolence registers with so many statements and then they will close with rest in peace(RIP)!
Beloved, the truth be told, anybody who leaves this world without Christ is actually not resting in peace! Everybody that leaves this world without surrendering to Jesus are never in peace. The torment that awaits every soul after leaving this world is the reason your soul is agitated when you fall into sin.
The reason for the agitation is for you to wake up and do the needful because there is no repentance in the grave.
So if your soul is disturbing you now, it is doing that for the sake of the eternal torment that lies ahead. Those who have the privilege of returning back after death can testify to it. The Bible never left us in the dark as per what happened to a man after death.
Hebrews 9: 27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
The judgement is like this:
Revelation 20: 15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
How then do we prepare for eternal rest?
1. You must be born again (Joh. 3:3-8)
2. Maintain a holy life (Heb.12:14)
3. Constantly examine yourself in the mirror of the word of God (2Cor. 13:5, Jam. 1:22-25))
4. Be a soul winner (Prov. 11:30)
5. Participate in good works as is a seed that will follow you when you are no more(Rev.13:14). Whether there are certificates, properties, children, family etc, they will all be forgotten but your works will follow you to eternity.
In conclusion, if you have not yet prepared for your eternal rest, please get ready now by surrendering your life to Christ. Get the assurance of peace in your soul now and then when you are fully prepared you can say:
Philippians 1: 21. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Romans 6: 7. For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Please note that this not meant to scare you but to get you ready for the reality that lies ahead when we leave this world.

– I prophesy against every death looking for you before your time is due on earth is hereby cancelled in the name of Jesus.
