TOPIC : THE WISDOM OF COMMUNICATION


Scripture :Luke 21: 15. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Every leader must possess communication skills! The quality of effective communication determines to a large extent your ability to lead.

I have come to realize in life that our mouth can determine to a large extent, the result/outcome of our lives.

This is why the wisdom of communication is a must for everyone who wants to experience success, peace and become outstanding leaders in life. Today we shall briefly examine the wisdom of communication!

What do we mean by the wisdom of communication?

1. It is wisdom inside your mouth as you communicate with people(Lk.21:15). This is what sponsors excellent delivery in speech making.

2. It is the wisdom of knowing what to say at the right time (Jn. 8:7). You are never stranded in any situation, you just know what to say.

3. It is the wisdom of saying the right words at the right time. (Acts 6:10): It is not “oh I should have said this or that.” You just know now is the right time to say this or hold back.

You have come to realize that words are like eggs once it is cracked you can’t gather it back to the basket.

4. It is the wisdom of words you don’t rehearse before talking! It comes on the spur of the moment to tackle the challenge of the moment. (Matt. 10:19). It is as if you prepared the answer before the question came.

5. It is the wisdom that delivers from traps(Mrk.12:13): When your colleagues/ friends or associates gather just to trap you down in life through your words, the wisdom to escape is this wisdom of words.

How true is this wisdom?

Jesus was a leader that excelled in communication, no matter how they gang up against Him, He always escaped!


Mark 12: 13. And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.


Hence when He was about leaving this world He made a promise to give you the wisdom to speak. Jesus understands how terrible to live in this world without such a wisdom! A world where you can easily be misquoted for what you did not say!

Today, that wisdom is highly demanded because of rise in technology men can easily twist your words just to rope you into trouble.

It is imperative to say many have crashed their marriages because this wisdom is lacking!

Many lost opportunities to be lifted before their destiny helpers, some lost contracts that should have turned their fortunes around, some lost jobs, some lost relationships that should have lead to marriage etc just because this wisdom is lacking.

It will interest you to know that pastors need this wisdom also, as a pastor to open your mouth before a crowd or your congregation requires wisdom, otherwise your message will be misunderstood!

Lack of wisdom has frustrated so many anointed servants of God in ministry! Yes, you can feel the audacious power of God when you come close to them, yet they find it difficult to keep a congregation!

Beloved, it is possible you are in a mess right now because you opened your mouth wrongly, or said the right thing at the wrong time, but I have good news for you today, Jesus is still giving as many that desire this dimension of wisdom! If you are willing, Jesus will give it to you.

How can you get such a wisdom?

1. Be born again (Jn. 3:3)
2. Surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. To surrender here means acknowledge your total dependency on Jesus. He alone gives such a wisdom. It is not in this earth realm, it comes from heaven.
3. Demand for it in prayer (Jam. 1:5)


Examples of men who operated in this wisdom

Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real, your eternal home is your choice to make! Do that today, Jesus loves you!

Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today,
– Lord, I repent of any foolish word that I have opened my mouth to say. I receive grace to open my mouth with wisdom in Jesus name.

Prophetic Declaration:

– I prophesy the release of the wisdom of speech-making be released upon you now in Jesus name.
– Whatever you must have lost due to wrong words, I decree supernatural restoration in Jesus name.
– Anywhere your life is tied down because of your mouth, be loosed in Jesus name.
