TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF REST AT THIRD LEVEL
Scripture: Zechariah 10: 1. Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Previously we established that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of rest. The first level is the well level which is the level of being born again, the second level is the river level! Today, we shall be looking at the third level which is the rain level.
The Rain Level is third level:
The rain level is existence in the anointing! This is going beyond speaking in tongues to the power realm. It is the outpouring of the power of God upon an individual to carry out a specific task in the body of Christ.
There’s no assignment that can be done successfully in the body of Christ without this empowerment of the Spirit through the rain of the anointing.
There are those who think once you are filled with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, you are done! And so many have been speaking in tongues yet no power! Beloved, you can connect into the rain dimensions of the Spirit! The Bible said:
Zechariah 10: 1. Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
The Bible refers to this dimensions as rain. You can not be in the rain and not feel the impact. So also the anointing of the Spirit could come like a showers of rain. However, there are things that you must engaged to provoked the rain of the Holy Spirit.
What is our participatory roles?
1. Love for God: Your love for Jehovah is the acid test for this level. The qualifications to enter into this dimension of the Holy Spirit is undying love for God. Love for His person and not just His ability or power. Love for His kingdom that is demonstrable. This love of God in your heart leads to:
A. Hunger for God:
Psalm 42: 1. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
This is the hunger that drives you to seek God perpetually! You are constantly on hungry mode. You are never satisfied of what you have seen, always wanting more.
So as a result of this, you seek God in fasting and prayer consistently, just like Jesus was led to the wilderness(Luke 4:1) by the Holy Spirit to seek God and be tempted by the devil. The result was that the rain of the anointing fell on Him,
Luke 4: 14. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
You too can be led to seek God in solitary places called the secret place. Infact you can dwell there like the Bible said:
Psalm 91: 1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
You always seek to be in fellowship with God. This is the kind of hunger that makes you stay everyday with the word of God.
Job 23: 12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
You are always searching just to know how to relate with your Lover. You are never tired of being with Him. You are fond of Him both day and night.
Although there are those who have fasted and prayed yet the rain did not fall! The rain of the anointing will never fall if your fasting is not motivated by love for God
B. Passion for God that makes you to be angry against sin and injustice:
Hebrews 1: 9. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Beloved, don’t settle for the well level neither be satisfied with the river level. Press into God for the rain of the Holy Spirit according to our anchor scripture (Zech. 10: 1).
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real! The decision to spend eternity with God begins now! Give your heart to Jesus today.
Prayer points:
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord create unquenchable hunger for your Person in me in the name of Jesus
Prophetic Declaration:
– I declare fresh hunger for God be sparked up in you in the name of Jesus.
– May your love for God never die! And the rain of the anointing be poured on you this day in the name of Jesus.
