Spiritual Stewardship Pays the Most

John  15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

  • We are empowered by the Holy Ghost to be witnesses of Christ on the earth – Act. 1:8

Acts  1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Spiritual Stewardship Pays the Most

  • Secondly, we serve God by bringing people to church
  • Bringing people to Christ is one way we serve God’s interest on earth – Luk. 14:16-23/ Jhn 10:16

Luke  14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:  14:17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.  14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.  14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.  14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.  14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.  14:22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.  14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

John  10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

  • Onemay not be equipped yet to preach, but everyone can invite people to church to meet with Christ – Mak. 16:15/ Jhn. 1:41-46

Mark  16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

John  1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.  1:43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.  1:44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.  1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.  1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

  • Notethat you are not wasting your time serving the Lord, you are investing into your future                           – Mal. 3:17-18/ Rom. 13:10/ Deut. 28:1

Malachi  3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.  3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Romans  13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Genesis  20:17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

  • When the challenges of members are turned into testimonies, they attract others to Church                           – Zch. 8:23/ Isa. 44:5

Zechariah  8:23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

Spiritual Stewardship Pays the Most

  • We serve God through praying for new converts and new members to be established in the faith
  • By praying for new converts, we shut the door against the manipulation of the enemy to draw them back to the world – Luk. 11:24-26/ Col. 4:12

Luke  11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.  11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.  11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Colossians  4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

  • We must pray for our new converts to be turned into instant disciples of Christ– Jhn 4:29/39

John  4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?  4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

  • Notethat, God does not reward groups, He rewards individuals – 1 Cor. 3:6-8/ Rev. 22:12

1 Corinthians  3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.  3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Revelation  22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Spiritual Stewardship Pays the Most

  • We serve God through giving towards the advancement of His Kingdom – Zch. 1:17

Zechariah  1:17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Psalms  102:12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.  102:13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.  102:14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.  102:15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

Matthew  6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.  6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!  6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.  6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  • Not minding the advancement of God’s kingdom with our finances, can stop God’s blessings from coming upon us – Hag. 1:3-6/9-10

Haggai  1:3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,  1:4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?  1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.  1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.  1:9 Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.  1:10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.

  • Giving towards God’s kingdom secures our generational prosperity– Psa. 112:1-3/9-10/ Pro. 8:18

Psalms  112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.  112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.  112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.  112:9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.  112:10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Proverbs  8:18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

Matthew  25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Ephesians  6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
