SERVING GOD IS ESSENTIALLY FOR OUR BENEFIT

SERVING GOD ADDS NOTHING TO GOD BUT ADDS EVERYTHING TO US

ONE MAJOR WAY WE SERVE GOD IS DEPOPULATING THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS AND POPULATING THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT.

IF YOU EVER HAVE A DAILY AGENDA LIKE SOME OF US DO, WHERE IS GOD ON THE LIST?

IT IS NOT JUST SERVING GOD BUT PUTTING HIM FIRST.

OUR PRAYERS GET ON THE EXPRESS LANE AS WE CALL TO THE LORD.

– Pastor Isaac Oyedepo on SERVING GOD IS ESSENTIALLY FOR OUR BENEFIT at Covenant Hour of Prayer Youth Chapel 17th May, 2023

Heavenly Father, all eyes are on You this morning at the Covenant Hour of Prayer and we are asking that You send us a Word and send us a Word swiftly in the precious name of Jesus. By the blood of the Lamb, we gain access to this holy Word this morning, let Your Word reach out to us.

Holy Spirit speak directly to us, stir us up to serve You, to serve You fervently, to serve You in truth, to serve You in deed, for all you would do, I vow to return all the glory in Jesus precious name we have prayed.

Praise the LORD, I am finally on the Covenant Highway of life. Congratulations! Amen and Amen. Give the LORD a hand, please be seated.

Serving God is essentially for our benefit and this will be part 3 of that exhortation line. Serving God is essentially for our benefit. On Monday, we began by saying serving God is not to God’s benefit because He remains I AM that I AM.

Whether we choose to serve Him or not, He is I AM. His status cannot be changed, His status cannot be adjusted, His status cannot be remixed, He is I AM THAT I AM. That is to say serving God adds nothing to God but adds everything to us. In Exodus 3:14, He introduced Himself as I AM THAT I AM, Malachi 3:6; He is the God that changeth not. However, one very strong point was hit in the first two days and that is; it is not just serving God that works but serving Him as priority. Somebody shout priority. If you look at Matthew 6:33 and the LORD opens your eyes to see it, it says “seek ye first the Kingdom of God…” The challenge is not in our seeking God but the priority to which God is placed.

Not seek God, not seek the Kingdom of God but seek ye first! This is where the question is posed to us, where is God on your priority list? It is not just about seeking God but seeking Him first. Matthew 22:36-38.

– Please lift up your hands where you are, I pray for each one of us that God will take priority in our lives. Did I hear a louder Amen?

Serving God is essentially for our benefit. Two benefits today that we will want to look at:

1. Serving God guarantees express answers to our prayers. That is to say, when we serve God as priority, God makes our prayers His priority. Everyone is praying, believe me there are those that have priority with God.

He said “before they call, I will answer while they are yet speaking, I will perform.” Everybody is praying but on God’s answer list, there are those that have priority. It is priority for priority. If you put God first, you gain priority with Him. He puts you on the express lane for answers to prayers. John 15:16. Express answers to prayers, express answers to prayers, in the name of the LORD Jesus as you and I put God as priority from today, everything that is a concern to us receives express answers from the LORD. Did I hear a louder Amen? John 16:24.

As you and I bring joy to the Kingdom, God will ensure that joy becomes our benefit. Your joy shall be full! My joy shall be full in the name of Jesus Christ. Let me hear a louder Amen. So, number one benefit is serving God guarantees express answers- our prayers get on the fast lane, our prayers get on the express lane as we call to the LORD.

2. Serving God as a priority turns our shame into glory. I speak to somebody, you will smile again. He turns our shame to glory, you will celebrate again, you will jubilate again. Everything that looks shameful around your life or my life, as we put God as priority, that shame shall be turned into glory. Proverbs 11:30.

One major way we serve God is depopulating the kingdom of darkness and populating the Kingdom of light. Proverbs 3:35. You will see glory. I said you will see glory! Daniel 12:3. No dim season, no down season, no out season, they will keep shining as stars forever and ever and ever and ever. There is actually no way to really define glory as though, but glory is simply the opposite of shame.

How do you define shame in the first place? Anything that puts you to bow your head, anything that makes you to hide from others, anything that makes you to keep to yourself, anything that makes you to cry in secret. God is saying if you make Me priority, I will turn it around. Haven’t you read? I will overturn, overturn, overturn it and it shall be no more until it comes whose right it is and I will give it to him. Every aura of shame around your life and my life as we serve God as priority, it shall be turned into glory! Let me hear the loudest Amen!

So, serving God adds nothing to God but adds everything to us. These are just two things that serving God will add but remember we had emphasized, it is not just serving God, it is not just seeking God, it is not just chasing God, it is not just following God but putting Him as first, putting Him as first, putting Him as first. That is what I believe has gotten this commission to where it is. We are not the only one serving God but we are making Him priority, priority. Check the list of things you desire, where is God in the list?

Your daily agenda, where is God? Do you start with God or do you find God somewhere in the middle? Is God first or is God just there? Is God priority or is God just there as who you fall back on? Is it all of God or some of God?

These are questions that everyone who is truly serving God must ask. Is my service to God conditional or is it unconditional? Is my service to God genuine or is it a make up? When I check my list, where is God? If you ever have a daily agenda like some of us do, where is God on the list, is God after other activities or do you begin with God? Is it about you or is it about His Kingdom?

I pray that these words will find a resting place in our hearts as you make God first, as you make Him priority, He will also make you priority.

PRAYERS.
