TOPIC: RELATIONSHIPS – KEY TO PROVOKING FAVOUR
Scripture: Exodus 3: 21. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Previously, we’ve looked at some keys to provoking favour which are: wisdom of speech making, honour, integrity, value and prayer! Today, we shall be looking at the key of relationship.
What is relationship?
Relationship is association between two or more people. It is an advantageous connection.
There are those who shouldn’t be in business today that are there on the basis of relationship. One dangerous relationship can wreck your life as well as one correct relationship can bless your life in a great measure.
Examples of where relationship provoked favour:
1. The children of Israel enjoyed favour because of the relationship between God and their father(Abraham)(Gen.31-21):
It will amaze you to know that God gave the children of Israel in the land of Egypt favour because of the relationship that existed between God and their fathers! God has earlier on entered a covenant with Abraham, it was in response to this covenant that God showed up for them in Egypt. Here is what the Bible said:
Exodus 3: 6. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. 7. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
The discourse continue to verse twenty one where God promised to give the people favour(Exo.3:21). A good study from verse six, reveals why God is willing to dish out favour to this people. It was because of the relationship between Him and their fathers.
This implies that they were enjoying favour on the premise of relationship. Beloved, it is possible to enjoy favour by virtue of your ancestry. Your family tree can sometimes determine the kinds of favour you enjoy in life.
The children of Israel were in an advantageous connection by virtue of their birth by a man who was in covenant with God, therefore on the basis of relationship they obtained favour of the Lord that guaranteed favour with men;
Exodus 12: 36. And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
2. Another example is Ruth, she was a Moabite woman that relationship brought into favour!
She maintained a good relationship with her mother-in-law even after the death of her husband and that transported her into favour:
Ruth 2: 13. Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
3. Daniel: His relationship with God was superb! Hence God had to bring him into favour with the prince of the Eunuchs:
Daniel 1: 9. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
Beloved, who are you in relationship with? Your relationships are the vehicle to your destiny.
The favour you are looking for here and there is hidden in relationships. It is possible that our inability to maintain cordial relationship is the reason why certain favour has eluded us.
When I speak of relationship, it is not limited to male and female relationship with the intention of getting married. It is far beyond marital relationship! It is ability to maintain advantageous connections. Many of us find it difficult to maintain relationship because we are not obeying scripture.
Proverbs 18: 24. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Observe the scriptures above, you will notice that if you want a friend you must be friendly. There are many of us who find it difficult to maintain friendship because we are not friendly!
What does it cost to maintain relationship?
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real. It is time to resolve where you will spend eternity. Start now by surrendering your life to Christ.

– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord, I receive grace to maintain strategic destiny relationship in the name of Jesus.
Prophetic Declaration:
– I prophesy the release of Grace to make and maintain strategic relationship in the name of Jesus.
– I declare your deliverance from any and every wrong relationship in the name of Jesus.
