TOPIC: PRAISING YOUR WAY INTO THE NEW YEAR
SCRIPTURE: Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? And the Lord said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.
Judges 1:1, 2
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: As you are about to enter into a new phase, the year 2023, praise your way into it.
Praise the LORD!
We appreciate God for making us to see the end of the year, 2022. To Him alone be all the Glory in Jesusā Name.
We shall be rounding off this year by looking at the subject of praise and worship.
You know, in the journey of life, people encounter different phases, and they wonder how to approach it and come out in triumph.
Our anchor Scripture gives us a clue ā it says that Judah shall go up first. And Judah means praise. So, in every new phase of your life, let Praise go up first.
Now, our praise will achieve four things for us at every junction of our lives:
i. Praise is key to existence on the frontline.
You cannot carry praise and come last. Confront every new phase of your life with praise and let God know that you are not ready to come last. As you are about to enter into a new phase, the year 2023, praise your way into it.
ii. Praise is key to conquest and victory in life.
The children of Israel asked God, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first? And God said, Judah, and Judah means praise. That implies that Judah (praise) will be victorious; he will confirm the defeat of the adversary. So, our praise is key to our victory in every new season. You cannot carry praise and end a loser.
iii. Praise is key to possession.
In our anchor scripture, God said, I have delivered the land into his hand. That is, I have delivered the land into Judahās (Praiseās) hand. So, the things that belong to us can be delivered into our hands by our praise. You cannot know praise and be empty-handed.
iv. Praise is key to a successful beginning.
The children of Israel were wondering how to step into the new phase they were entering? And God said, offer praise. So, to start well is to start with praise, and to start well is to end well.
REMEMBER THIS: As you are about to enter into a new phase, the year 2023, praise your way into it.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Take out time to praise God consistently.
2. Identify those things you are thankful to God for in this passing year.
3. Live a life that will cause people to glorify God.
