MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH KENNETH COPELAND – Pastor Isaac Oyedepo

YOU HAVE NOT REALLY PRAYED AT THE ALTAR UNTIL SOMETHING HAS BEEN ALTERED.

IT TAKES TARRYING TO CARRY! IT IS THOSE WHO TARRY THAT CARRY HIS GLORY.

YOU MAY CARRY FLIERS AND LACK THE FIRE BUT IF YOU CARRY THE FIRE AND LACK THE FLIER, YOU WILL STILL HAVE A MASSIVE HARVEST RUN AFTER YOU!

YOU CAN JUMP IN AND OUT OF THE PRAYER ALTAR AND GET THINGS BUT YOU CAN’T JUMP IN AND OUT AND CHANGE AS A PERSON!

IT IS THOSE THAT TARRY THAT CARRY!

PRAYER IS BEYOND ‘THINGS’, PRAYER IS GETTING TO REALMS- REALMS OF TRANSFIGURATION!

ELEMENTARY PRAYER FOCUSES ON THINGS CHANGED BUT MATURED PRAYERS FOCUS ON PERSONALITIES BEING CHANGED!

-Pastor Isaac Oyedepo on ‘PRAYER DOES NOT ONLY CHANGE THINGS, PRAYER CHANGES PEOPLE’

|| Youth Chapel || Covenant Hour of Prayer || 16th January, 2023.

Let’s go ahead and give Him the praise and the honour. Give Him all the glory. Magnify His Name, glorify His Name. Exalt Him! Isn’t our God faithful? Bless His Name!

For that amazing testimony this morning, let God know that you and I are grateful! Insanity embarrassed and shattered by the power of the anointing oil. Blessed be Your Name forever more in Jesus’ Precious Name we pray!

This is another week! The first week was great, the second week shall be greater.

I believe this is the eight day meaning that it is the second day in our three-day module. The second of our third set of our three-day module out of seven. God has been faithful to us but today revival will break loose in somebody’s life.

-Lord! On this second day, I desire personal revival! Revive my Spirit! Let fire continue to burn in my bones. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am ready for an encounter! Today will not be ordinary! Thank You!

Blessed be Your Name, in Jesus Precious Name, we have prayed!

-And so Heavenly Father, all eyes are on You! Everyone came here hungry and with desperation! Everyone came here with thirst. Lord, You are the only one who can satisfy our thirst.

You are the only one who can feed our soul and strengthen our Spirit. Therefore, Lord! By the blood, we ask that we gain access into the Holy Word this morning!

Let Your Word be ever new to us! Sweet Holy Spirit, take over this moment, let there be transformations in the lives of your people and let Jesus alone be glorified! For all you do, I vow to return all the glory in Jesus’ Precious Name we pray!

Praise the Lord! I’m finally on the Covenant Highway of life!

We begin looking at a very dynamic series of teaching this week, captioned: ‘PRAYER DOES NOT ONLY CHANGE THINGS, PRAYER CHANGES PEOPLE’.

-You and I shall be changed this week!

Three things to note that will set your heart ablaze this morning on the subject of prayer!
1. The altar of prayer is the altar of transfiguration. Please never forget that!
2. The altar of prayer is the altar of transformation.
3. The altar of prayer is the altar of translation.

In Luke 9:28-35, we see something happen to Jesus. We can’t read it because of our time. He took His disciples up to the mountain to pray and the Bible said, He was transfigured before them. His figure was altered Luke 9:29.

Hear this, you have not really prayed at the altar until something has been altered. The altar is for our altering. So Jesus was transfigured, His face changed.

Another example that we find here is Moses Exodus 34:35. The Bible says about Moses that he prayed to the point where the children of Israel could not look at his face because his face was altered. His face began to shine! Something had happened to him on the altar of prayer. We used to read 2 Corinthians 3:18 and we have given it many interpretations but the Holy Ghost opened my eyes to see that this is about prayer.

But we all with an open face beholding Him as in a glass the glory of the Lord… You can’t see His glory and not carry the glory. Where do we do that (behold His face)? On the altar of prayer.

There is a story of a great Evangelist, we have heard Bishop Oyedepo talk about it. He said, he happened to be around the vicinity, I guess the same house. This great Evangelist locked himself up in a room and prayed.

Bishop Oyedepo said that when he came out nobody could look at his face. Why? He had seen the face of Jehovah. And according to him, he said by the time he got to the crusade ground, see amazing miracles taking place. He had seen the glory! The altar of prayer is the altar of transfiguration.

In 2007, the first time that Dr. Copeland stepped on this ground. I may not have shared this testimony publicly, when we heard that Dr. Copeland was around and we rushed to go and see him, I couldn’t look at his face. For the first time in my life, I saw glory on a man’s face in that dimension.

His face was literally shining. His eyes were literally spitting fire. That was in May 2007. Please, let’s pray! There are realms and dimensions you step into and people look at you and say, “That wasn’t you that preached today!”- It’s a different personality that came!” Transfiguration!

Too many testimonies! What of Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory? God’s servant said when in that 1986 meeting or so he beheld him and in his own words he said, ‘His face was transfigured into the face of a little child’! Prayer is beyond ‘things’, prayer is getting to realms- Realms of transfiguration!

What more? We said that the altar of prayer is the altar of transformation. James 5:17 talks about the man called Elijah, He said, ‘This man prayed’!

When the Bible said that you prayed then you prayed. This man prayed and what happened to him? In 2 Kings 1:10, he prayed to a dimension that his physical body became like a chariot. Now, the Bible says that he had run ahead of the horses of Ahab to Jezreel.

Now let me quickly get this information, that is about a forty kilometer journey- twenty five miles for a human being!

For those of you who are used to exercise, you know what twenty five miles is all about? If you are a walker like I walk, it may take you one week to walk twenty five miles with an hour invested everyday! Elijah did it in a moment- Outran horses! What happened? His body had become a chariot! His leg had rollers from the place of prayer.

Do you know what that means? Let me make it clear to you! That is like going from Ota to Ikeja and back from Ikeja to Ota! Running at chariot’s speed! Transformation!

The altar of prayer is the altar of translation. Translation means that you go to a depth! You go to a height! You are translated from the natural to the Supernatural. That happens on the altar of prayer. Too many examples! Moses enjoyed that.

Elijah enjoyed that. In fact, Bible scholars argued that since the Bible said that God buried Moses Himself, no one knows the place of his death! So it’s possible that God or Jesus saw him physically.

Now look at this! Who appeared to Jesus on the mountain of transfiguration? Moses and Elijah! Nobody else! Translation! The altar of prayer is the altar of transfiguration, the altar of transformation and the altar of translation.

-In the Name of Jesus, I don’t know if you are as hungry as I am. But in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth on this last two weeks of the corporate fast of 21 days of prayer and fasting, on this altar of prayer, may something be altered in your life and in my life!

The Revivalist Williams Seymour, just like Moses, his face couldn’t be looked at in the Asuza street. They had to drop a box on his head. The glory was too devastating for any natural eye to behold. Where did he get it from? The altar of prayer!

Lord, I am tired of coming and collecting things, I want to come and collect You! I want to walk into dimensions, I want to ascend into heights. I want alterings around my life!

Rather than going and collecting things why not go and collect a Personality that alters things at will.
Haven’t you heard that on that mountain of prayer and fasting, God told God’s servant and said, ‘Now, I have touched your tongue with the coal of fire as you say it, you will see it’!

-There is such a stamp on some of us in this season!

Now, prayer does not only change things as we have already established, it changes people! Elementary prayer focuses on things changed! Matured prayers focus on personalities being changed!

There is a wide difference. Therefore, everyone of us should expect to be transfigured, transformed and translated!

We will look at one example today and we will close! The example of Abraham! A passionate intercessor! He stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah Genesis 18:17-33. What happened to him? His body was altered as a result of the altar! At 100 years old, the dead body became alive, filled with everything required to father a child! Body changed! We read Romans 4:17-21, all the time we say, ‘Oh! God did it for Abraham, God can do it for anybody’! Are you willing to tarry? It is those that tarry that carry! Don’t mistake reading a few verses as meaning a few hours.

There is a call to tarry. You can jump in and out of the prayer altar and get things but you can’t jump in and out and change as a person! It takes tarrying! Every moment becomes a prayer moment! Every opportunity to be alone is jealously guarded so that you may be altered on the altar of prayer.

A number of us are tired of nominal Christianity. People should see us and pick races. Are you hearing what I’m saying? People like Smith Wigglesworth, men like Charles G. Finney will enter the train, everybody will depart and they will begin to scream, ‘You make me feel unclean! No evangelism! No flier! Please wake up!

There is a difference between fliers and fire! You may carry fliers and lack the fire but if you carry the fire and lack the flier, you will still have a massive harvest run after you!

It’s a new day for you! At 100 years old, the body changed! He could undertake a three day journey at the age of 114 years old! Three-day journey! Non-stop! No parking! No stopping! No begging! No tiredness!

There is a realm that you pray to that you know that this is no longer you physical energy carrying you! I’ve watched God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo sometimes and you know that this is beyond physical energy.

You pray to a realm that it is after you are done you say, ‘Ah! Is this me? That’s when you know that you are tired- After you are done, but on the task, where is tiredness? Something has entered your body that is injecting, pushing and moving you! That is what happens on the altar when you are altered.

But it takes tarrying! What will happen if you and I make this week a week to tarry on the altar?

-Lord I am not here for things this week but let there be fire that comes upon my life! Let something drop upon me that remains there for generations!

Let the assignment that you have given to me for my generation be fulfilled! It takes tarrying to carry! It is those who tarry that carry!

Final example, Jesus told them, ‘Tarry ye in Jerusalem till you’ll be endued with power from in High Luke 24:49. Those Apostles in the Upper room were all transfigured. Why? Can you carry fire on your head and your head still looks the same!

Can you carry fire on your face and your face still looks the same! So in Acts 2:1-4, they were all transfigured, how did they get there? They tarried on the altar of prayer!

-May the prayer of this week change you and I in Jesus Name!
