TOPIC: JEHOSHAPHAT TECHNIQUES (PART 2)
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20: 3. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of what we started yesterday on Jehoshaphat techniques!
We discovered it is a techniques of seeking the Lord with fasting and prayer. We also established that seeking the Lord requires the totality of man which is your heart (spirit), your Soul( mind) and your body! Your mind must be free of any form of iniquity. And we shall continue along this line today.
In the case of Jehoshaphat, he declared a fast that includes old and young(2Chro.20:13). And prayers were made as He reminded God of His word(2Chro.20:6-12)! He expressed his fears and his helplessness to God(2Chro. 20:12)! Then in midst of the fast, help came from the throne of grace. The first thing that came was a word of courage:
2 Chronicles 20: 15. And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
The results of our seeking God with fasting ais often a word of courage that flows from God to us. This is why seeking the Lord at this begining part of the year with a fast often gives the courage and strength needed for the year. The year is pregnant with a lot of things, take out time to seek the Lord with a fast asking specific questions about the areas of concern to you and help will certainly come for you.
The second thing that came to Jehoshaphat was Divine direction(2Chro.20:16-17)!
Beloved, are you scared about the year Or confused about what to do based on what you are hearing?
I bring you good news that helps is coming your way as you set your self to seek the Lord with fasting. The direction to take that business through this year is coming to you now.
The direction to go about your job, seeking for contract, business expansion, innovation and every other areas, will be unfolded as we seek God with fasting. Infact this is what is refers to as your light breaking forth( Isa.58:8)! God’s language is light. When He speak, He speak light and that is the direction you need to change your level this year.
When can you employ Jehoshaphat techniques?
1. When dealing with bad news; Fasting and prayer was deploy to handle the issue of bad news; when three nation gang up against Jehoshaphat and the nation of Judah.
Beloved, we can employ fasting and prayer to deal with bad report, bad news arising from any quarter. Have you been receiving bad news about your extended family and friends? It is time to fast and pray. It could be business report that is sour! It could be relationship report that is sour! Engage in this principle of fasting and prayer to deal with any form of bad news/report.
2. When you feel threatened: Hezekiah was another person that adopted this Jehoshaphat techniques (2Kg.20:1-36): When Sennacherib threatened the army of Judah with words of intimidation.
They employ fasting and prayer techniques and a word of courage proceed from God’s servant prophet Isaiah. The enemy went further to write letter just to continue the harassment and intimidation. However Hezekiah know what to do.
The Bible said:
2 Kings 19: 14. And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
Beloved, who is harassing you right now with report? Are you being intimidated by anyone at all? It could be your landlord with quit notice, bad medical verdict, your boss, your colleagues, your business partner etc! Don’t loose any more sleep, simply engage Jehoshaphat techniques and see victory smiles your way.
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real! The loving saviour Jesus died so that your destiny is secured. So give your heart to Christ today.
Prayer points :
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father, help me to adopt Jehoshaphat techniques in Jesus name.
Prophetic Declaration;
– I prophesy upon your life, confusion is over, receive victory to that matter of emotional torture in the name of Jesus.
– Negative medical verdict are change to positive ones now in the name of Jesus.
