TOPIC: INTRODUCTORY PATHWAY TO BELIEVERS VICTORY
Scripture: 1 Peter 2: 5. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Happy New Year to Moment of Daily Encounter family.
I wish to congratulate every one Happy New Year! 2023 is our year of victory and one of the way to enjoy a victorious life as a believer is in prayer. Today is an introductory aspect which is prayer the pathway to believers victory.
The Lord has promised us victory on all sides, but that does not leave us without a responsibility! And one of such responsibility is living a prayerful life.
Prayer is what made every believer a priest. And the duty of the priest according to scriptures is to burn incense;
Luke 1: 9. According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
So, when we pray we are simply raising incense.
Revelation 8: 4. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
Besides, the priest has the responsibility of ensuring he put the wood that sustain the fire that produce the incense:
Leviticus 6: 12. And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. 13. The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
So when we pray, we are not only generating incense, we are are also generating fire. Hence refusal to pray is permitting the wood to go out, meaning no fire! No incense.
Our anchor scripture (1Pet.2:5) made us understand that we are redeemed to offer spiritual sacrifice which is incense. We also know that incense according to scriptures represent PRAYER (Rev.8:3,4).
Hence the primary priesthood role of the believer is to offer incense which is PRAYER!
Although God desired the entire Nation of Israel to be priests unto Him (Exo.19:6), but they disappointed God in the matter of building the golden calf and committed whoredom. When Moses returned from the mountain and asked, “who is on the Lord’s side”, it was only the children of Levi that were on the Lord’s side(Exo.32:26). Hence, the tribe of Levi became the only tribe to stand in the office of the priest. And the first man to serve in that office was Aaron(Exo.40:13-15).
However, by redemption, every believer is now granted the privilege of priesthood (Rev.5;9,10):
Revelation 5: 10. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Does that nullify the office of a teaching priest? No, of course not! This explains why God still calls men into that office today;
Ephesians 4: 11. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: –
The one singular role that we are to play as priests therefore is PRAYER! And this is not to nullify the established teaching priest that has been called into the office of a teaching priest, or to assume we are all equal as priest.

– I prophesy year 2023 will favour you in no small way in the name of Jesus.
