How do you become Born again?

Be born again

John 3:3-7 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? [5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

What does it mean to be born again?

To be born again also known as rebirth, is accepting the person of Jesus Christ into ones life, believing that he died for you and has washed away your sins to give you a new life. (John 3:16-17)

Jesus Christ was sent to the world by the Father to redeem man back into God. After the fall of man in the garden of Eden, there has been a separation between the spirit of man and God. But the coming of Jesus Christ bridged that gap, thereby reconciling us back to God.

2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

You might be wondering, how is this possible, let’s take a journey into the scriptures; in the old testament, the people had to sacrifice lambs and goats for the forgiveness of their sins, infact they didn’t have direct access into the temple (Leviticus 9:1-24), but in the new testament, after the coming of Jesus Christ, we now have a direct access to the father through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)

In the old testament, they had to sacrifice yearly for the forgiveness of their sins, but Jesus death is once and for all (Hebrews 9:11-14), all you need to do is to believe him and make him the Lord of your life.

How do you become born again?

1. Acknowledge you’re a sinner:

The first stage is to acknowledge that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 KJV
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Before a person can see the need for repentance, he or she needs to know that he or she has sinned. A person who sees himself as being righteous or sinless will not see any reason for repentance.

2. Confess your sins:

After accepting that you are a sinner, you don’t need to remain down and wallow in sins, rather you should confess it.
1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

3. Accept Jesus into your life:

After you have come to the realization of your sins, you need to accept Jesus into your life, to cleanse your sins by his blood. You need to accept him to give you a new life and to give you access to the Father.
Acts 2:37-38

4. Believe in your heart:

Believe in your heart that you are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

No one can play this role for you, you need to do it by yourself, and remember, the earlier, the better. Tomorrow might be too late to make a change, it’s better to do it now. Jesus is calling, he doesn’t want anyone to die as a sinner.

You must have heard a about this severally, but hearing alone is not enough, taking action is more important.
