TOPIC: ENJOYING MARITAL REST
Scripture: Matthew 11: 28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter!
The issue of rest cuts across all spheres!
Today, we shall consider marital rest.
The matter of marriage has been under serious attack since inception and as such homes that should have been a place of joy and peace has been hijacked by the devil.
Hence people who once professed love for each other are now seeking for divorce as they live like cat and dog. This ought not to be so, but for the ignorance of mankind.
What is God’s stand?
God wants you to have rest in your marriage, that is why God said;
Matthew 11: 28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Beloved, are you trying to quit your marriage because of troubles?
Infact since you got married there has never been a day of rest for you and your spouse!
I bring you good news, you are coming out of that troubled condition that looks as if there is no way out in the name of Jesus! God wants you to rest.
How then can you enjoy marital rest?
1. Accept the verdict of the word of God to be the guiding principle for your marriage:
Ephesians 5: 22. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
*Ephesians 5: 25.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
2. Seek for wisdom to manage your home:
James 1: 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
3. Understand that marriage has an enemy and that enemy is Satan the devil.
How does the devil attack marriages today?
1. Through lack of knowledge of the operations of family life;
2 Corinthians 2: 11. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Satan usually has a filled day anywhere men are working in ignorance. Don’t be ignorant of the following:
A. Demons; Satan often sends demons to families to cause confusion, unnecessary argument that often lead to quarrels and fighting. Check it out, any family where there is incessant quarrelling, unending dispute etc, demons have been offered seats in that house and they are busy manipulating the couple.
B. Anger : Nothing attracts demons like anger. Just the same way ants are attracted to a drop of sugar on the floor, the same way, demons are attracted to an angry man or woman. When these demons are on ground, they often make couples to vomit venom out of their mouth and over-react to just simple matters. Many have ruined their family life because of this monster called anger without knowing there is a demon behind the operation.
C. Sending spy : Most times, Satan sends his human agents or assigns demons to monitor you and your spouse to know when you are weak and vulnerable for spiritual attack.
2. Through deception:
This was how the first family was attacked. Satan will decieve a family to enter into marriage covenant without understanding the implications of such covenant.
For example a family that has been experiencing premature death went for help and protection and the devil agreed to give them help and protection but made them to enter into a covenant that will affect unborn generations! This is the genesis of spirit spouse. How on earth should a human being be married to a spirit being?
Simply because a legal ground was opened for Satan in the past and it harnesses the opportunity to bind everybody in that family with a covenant.
Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real! Don’t allow marriage to take you to hell. Give Jesus a chance to work on your heart and your problem.
Prayer points :
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord help me to be delivered from satanic deception in Jesus name.
*Prophetic Declaration:*
– I prophesy upon every family that is currently tearing apart because of Satanic deception, receive divine rescue now in the name of Jesus.
– To every single experiencing delay in marriage as a result of spirit spouse activities, help is coming for you now in the name of Jesus.
