Introduction:

  • According to scriptures, faith is the substance of thing we hoped for, that is, things expected, and the evidence of thing not seen – Heb. 11:1/ Heb. 11:8-10

Heb 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:8-10

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

  • Simply put, faith is Word-based expectation – Rom. 4:17-21/ Jam. 2:18

Rom 4:17-21

17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

James 2:18

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

  • As we get set for Shiloh 2022 with expectation, we shall be launched to the covenant highways of life 23:18

Prov 23:18

18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • Expectation is what gives value to our intercession and supplication to see our desires come to pass – Pro. 23:18/ Jam. 4:2

Prov 23:18

18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

James 4:2

2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

  • Jesus said, ‘according to your faith, that is, your expectation, be it done unto you’ – Mat. 9:29/ 2:1-12

Matt 9:29

29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Mark 2:1-12 [ABRIDGED]

And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Mark 2:8-12

8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? 9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

  • Whatever anyone expects at Shiloh 2022, shall surely return as testimony – Pro. 3:27-28/ Psa. 62:5

Prov 3:27-28

27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Ps 62:5

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • Expectation is key for provoking divine intervention on any issue of interest to us – Pro. 24:13-14/ 1 Kgs 18:42-45

Prov 24:13-14

13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

1 Kings 18:42-45

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

  • If you can believe or expect, based on the Word, all things are possible to him that believes and expects to see what he believes come to pass – Mak. 9:23

Mark 9:23

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

  • We must keep seeing the reality of our expectations as we get set for Shiloh 2022 – Gen. 13:14-15

Gen 13:14-15

14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • Faith without expectation is FAKE and prayer without faith is VAIN – Heb. 11:1/ Jam. 1: 6-7

Heb 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

James 1:6-7

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

  • Whatever we desire when we pray, we should believe, that is, expect, that we receive them, and we shall have them – Mak. 11:24/ 1 Sam. 1:13-14

Mark 11:24

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

1 Sam 1:13-14

13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. 14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

  • We must keep thinking the reality of our expectations as we prepare for Shiloh – Pro. 23:7/ Pro. 4:23

Prov 23:7

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Prov 4:23

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • Faith is never late; it can turn any stinking situation around in a moment – Jhn. 11:21-27/39-40

John 11:21-27

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. 23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

John 11:39-40

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

  • Anytime we step out in faith, that is full expectation, God is committed to Confirm His Word – Gen. 12:1-4/ Gen. 14:14-16/ Jam. 2:18

Gen 12:1-4

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Gen 14:14-16

14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. 15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. 16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

James 2:18

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

  • We must keep speaking the reality of our expectations as we prepare for this prophetic feast – Mar. 11:23/ 2 Cor. 4:13

Mark 11:23

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

2 Cor 4:13

13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • To see what we have not seen before, we must be set to do what we have not done before – 5:4-7/ Jhn 21:5-6

Luke 5:4-7

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

John 21:5-6

5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. 6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

  • We must take heed to the demands made on us to see our desired turnaround–Deut. 28:1/Jn 2:5-10

Deut 28:1

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

John 2:5-10

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

  • We must begin to walk in the reality of our expectations as we get set for Shiloh – 1 Sam. 2:3/ 2:18/26

1 Sam 2:3

3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

James 2:18

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 2:26

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Engaging the Power of Expectation for our Desired Turnaround

  • It is not enough to know what God has in stock for us at Shiloh 2022; it is important to know what it takes to make it a reality – Luk. 6:46-49/ Jam. 1:22-25

Luke 6:46-49

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

James 1:22-25

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

  • When we call on God expecting, we shall receive answers to the bugging issues of our lives – Mat. 21:22

Matt 21:22

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

  • We must remain confident in in the reality of our expectation as we prepare for Shiloh – Gen. 13:14/ Heb. 4:9

Gen 13:14

14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

Heb 4:9

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Jesus is Lord!
