II. Failure to succeed or prevail after repeated attempts, efforts or trials.
This means that; I have applied for a job in this country since I graduated 12 years ago and I have not gotten a job, so forget about it.
There is nothing that can come out of it. I have attempted relationships ten times, there are no good men, or there are no good women, failure to succeed or prevail in particular ventures, after repeated attempts, efforts or trials, many people become hopeless. They say we should tithe I tithed; I didn’t see any result.
They say we should go on evangelism I did; I didn’t see any result, they say we should do this, I did it but I did not see any result, that’s the lie of the devil. Micah 7:8.
Don’t conclude on me because God has not concluded on me. Never conclude on yourself because God has not concluded on you, someone once said; it is not over until God is over. And I added and say it is not over until God says it is over and God will not say it is over until you win.
In the game of life, God is the referee, he will not blow the whistle for the game to end until you have won.
The end of the day may not be the end of the game, you may lose a battle and still win the war. Battles are the fight inside the overall war, the battle of this and the battle of that, you may lose a particular battle and win the overall war.
We are called to fight but destined to win, the fight is not news. What is crucial is that the win is compulsory. We are wired to win.
I’m speaking to somebody here; I don’t care how many times you attempt and failed.
Thomas Edison attempted a thousand times or ten thousand times to manufacture the light bulb, what we are enjoying right now and someone told him you’ve failed ten thousand times, he said no I’ve not failed ten thousand times, I’ve only discovered ten thousand ways in which it does not work and after that he prevailed.
Albert Einstein’s mother one day called her son and she said; son, your classroom teacher said that you’re such a very intelligent child, that it is not good to mix you with the other children in the class, that you need expert coaching, so that you can be outstanding above your contemporaries.
So, from this day onward you won’t be going to school, I will teach you myself. So, that it can come to pass.
She taught that young man and he became the number one scientist in the world of his day.
When this boy grew and became this scientist that is when he realized what the teacher really wrote. The mother read the opposite of what the teacher wrote. The teacher said; your son is so bad that we can’t keep him in school.
We are unable to handle him, please you may have to teach him yourself and he was sent away from school. If the mother gave up on the child like the teacher gave up, then that destiny would have been lost.
I read a Book titled “ACRES OF DIAMONDS”, Russell Conwell, the founder of Temple University, a Christian man. In the days of the gold rush, people were selling their lands and properties to go and buy gold.
People were digging the ground to get gold.
A man tried to dig his property but he could not find gold and he left and he sold the property and went to look for other properties to buy to look for gold.
The next buyer who bought his land only hit his land one more time and he found gold, he just hit it from where the man stopped and there was gold.
The man sold the land and gave up one more step to meet up gold. I’m speaking to you about what I know. I’m announcing to somebody here today, it is too early to give up, it is too early to give up and to say I have tried, I have done this and I have done that.
One of the men that came to give his testimony. What was he exporting to the UK? Pepper.
The first pepper he exported, he washed it with soap and it was corrupted, they rejected it in the UK after exportation, he exported the second time it didn’t work, he tried it up to twelve times, it was the thirteenth one that worked. He sold everything to do the first export at that time and then it worked. Since that time till today, he has flown over nine aircrafts, that is like the way you change cars.
Lift your right hand and say in the name of Jesus, I will not give up, I cannot give up, I shall not give up, I refuse to give up.
III. Repeated disappointment or failure from people, especially where faith and confidence is not placed wholly in God.
People may atimes become hopeless, when they place their confidence in man and the man fails. I’m sure you know that another name for man is change, especially man that does not know God. Jeremiah 17:5-7.
Many are hopeless today because they say I have a brother who is a senator, I have a brother in America, I have this and that, but nothing worked and they became hopeless, the only person they relied on is man, you will be permanently hopeless.
But they looked up to him, they were enlightened and they were not put to shame. Psalm 34:5. When I was going to get married, my wife was the Doctor of the First Lady of a State, she was the medical doctor.
They even flew to Germany when the woman was sick on the presidential jet, a young girl in the presidential jet then and our wedding was coming near. And the people dedicated interest that they would be coming and all of that, all manner of imagination was in your mind, like how they would arrive, what is the potential and input to the wedding, I think it was two weeks before the wedding before the government changed, they were out of power.
Hello! So, they were facing more important matters than the wedding. You know in those days when government changes (it was the military government regime) that was disappointment number one.
Somebody who was doing a government contract at that time, he promised that he would do something major for the wedding when they pay him money, the payment came a long time after the wedding had passed. That was disappointment number two.
When you look at us you would think we have not seen anything and everything is just smooth and normal. Disappointment number three, there was fuel scarcity. I was expecting a big man of God from the North East, another one from the South West, another one from the South South. All of them apologized on the phone, they said I’m so sorry. I saw one of them ten years after the wedding. In Nigeria they will say “wahala dey”.
The reception venue we were to use did not work; it was as if all things were working together for bad. It was after we got married and I saw what God is doing and I knew what the devil was afraid of. The devil fights what he fears. If your destiny is consequential, it will be confronted.
I prophesy to somebody here, everybody and every fight confronting your destiny, it is over. There are other things I cannot tell you now. They are so personal, I can’t tell you know, at the right time if it is possible, I can tell you.
Lift up your right hand and say I’m looking up to God, I refuse to look up to man. My future is with God, it is not in the hand of a man. I will look up to God and I will be lightened and my face will never be ashamed, I will fulfil my destiny, I will fulfil the purpose of God for my life.
