American music icon, Beyonce has donated 100,000 dollars to 10 students who were unable to pay their school fees at Detroit School for Digital Technology in the United States.
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carteris an American singer, songwriter, and businesswoman. She has been widely recognized for her boundary-pushing artistry and vocal performances.
Beyonce was at Detroit for a performance as one of the stop for her ‘Renaissance World Tour’ where she promised ten students at the Detroit School for Digital Technology $100,000 in funding.
She is not only known as a music icon but also known for her philanthropic act. The scholarship is part of the Renaissance Scholars program which she launched before embarking on the highly-anticipated tour.
“We were delighted to spend the morning with the Detroit School for Digital Technology, and announce that @dsdttech will receive $100K in Renaissance scholarship funds to support students with financial need,” an official rep for Beyoncé told the outlet.
She had earlier announced plans to contribute two million dollars to support not only students but small businesses through her BeyGOOD foundation.
