Program Overview
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is a program designed to accommodate more skilled immigrants in Canada. Under this program, eligible applicants are nominated to work and permanently live in Canada.
Nominated candidates must have the necessary skills to fill open positions in Alberta or have plans to buy or launch a business there. Additionally, they must be able to support their families. The program is sponsored by the Government of Canada.
Nominated applicants are also given the opportunity to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). If selected for the program, you are eligible to apply for permanent residence status along with your family or any dependent children. This means that you and your family can live together permanently in Canada.
Volume of Immigrants
AAIP program has the capacity of bringing in 524,000 new foreigners to Canada. This implies that over 500,000 new immigrants have a free slot of living permanently in Canada. These new immigrants in Canada have the opportunity of earning about $12.7 billion after paying taxes.

- 73300 – Transport truck drivers
- 12200 – Accounting technicians and bookkeepers

- Every Skilled worker can also apply. All skilled workers are eligible
- All countries can apply. Africans are strongly recommended to apply

Factors that Can Increase Your Chances of Getting into the Program
By meeting one or more of the following criteria, the possibility of getting considered for the program increases:
- You have a job offer in Alberta
- You are a graduate of any post-secondary institution in Canada
- you have a parent, child, brother, or sister or any relative who is a permanent resident living in Alberta, or a Canadian citizen living in Alberta
- French is your first language
Note:
You do not need to meet all these requirements to have higher chances, all you need to do is have at least one of the criteria. If you have one, it does not mean you won’t still be considered for the program.
